It’s no secret that managing parking can be a hassle, but they don’t have to be with the right property manager. Here’s how you can organize your condo association’s parking lot with Boston HOA Management.
Parking Lots in Condo Associations
Many of the condo associations we manage have parking lots. The parking can either be free or paid for.
When it’s free parking and everybody just parks wherever they want, this can get kind of crazy. Especially in a small lot, where space is limited.
As an HOA manager, I understand that one of the most important responsibilities is managing your association’s parking. So I share with you some tips that we do to organize the parking lot in condo associations.
Tips on Organizing the Condo Parking Lot
1. Tag System
You can do a tag system where each resident has a tag that they have to put into their vehicles. The tag designates their spot number so they know that a certain spot is assigned to them.
This also applies to any visitor parking spots.
On the larger associations, it is a lot more beneficial to apply a tag system. With tags, we can easily track every single license plate.
2. On-call Tow System
With an on-call system, anybody knows that their own spot is designated. So when someone else parks into their lot, they will report to us and give us a call.
We then contact the tow company that we partnered up with, and they will tow the specific car that’s parked out of line.
This system works for a smaller association. Because everybody knows each other’s cars and visitors, it’s easy to keep track of the designated parking spots.
